XVII ENCOUNTER OF ART AND COMMUNITY al zur-ich 2019

al
zur-ich is an encounter of art and community where
artistic, creative work and its processes are generated directly linked to: the
community, the social, the cultural and the territories.
The Encounter of art and community to the zur-ich
raises its processes around the residence: understood and managed as a
political space catalyzing encounter, dialogue and exchange of knowledge and
knowledge linked to the concept and broad processes in relation to art and
community.

zur-ich Residence Call, EMBLEMÁTICA / chance aniñada /
2019 is open to artists, creators, managers and cultural actors in the fields
of visual arts, visual and transdisciplinary arts, with local, national and
international applications.
Those who apply to this "grand" call must make their proposals / processes / discourse / dialogues with
the people / community actors / neighborhood leaders / political leaders / worker / peasant
/ in some neighborhoods / territories of the city of Quito: Guamaní, Quitumbe, La Ecuatoriana,
Turubamba, Comité del Pueblo and Atucucho.
1.-Conditions
and participation guidelines:
-A Residencia al
zur - ich, EMBLEMÁTICA / chance aniñada / 2019 can apply artists, cultural
managers, creators, of any nationality and of legal age.
-The Residence will run from July 5 to September 9,
2019
-Proposals and / or projects that dialogue,
generate processes or political practices in relation to:
(1) Pedagogies around art, creativity and
aesthetics,
(2) Urban Space and reciprocal or sustainable
relations with the territory,
(3) Problems and activations of
social-cultural-spatial memory,
(4) Crossings, links and / or reflections between
art, technology and / or popular mechanics.
- Through a selection committee (artists, curators,
community leaders), six proposals will be chosen that demonstrate their
experience, commitment and skill in the development of art-community work to
which grants of production will be granted for the development of your projects
-It is essential that the proponents have the
openness to share experiences, work methodologies in the form of a research
laboratory in the residence and in action centers of the Meeting.
-The artistic work product of the process and
reflection of the proponents will be socialized from a joint sample at the end
of the residence.
-All the artistic processes developed by the
proponents participating in the residency will be documented by the team at
zur-ich and by the proponents themselves, they will also be part of a
catalog-printed memory of great quality.
-Proponents and participants authorize the
organization of the Residence, the use of images and audiovisual material
solely for artistic and cultural dissemination purposes and under no
circumstances for commercial purposes.
-The participants in the residence is committed to
developing a final report of their work done both textually and accompanied by
image and to which is attached a record file of images and audiovisuals they
have developed of their processes / projects, which will serve only for
purposes of dissemination and administrative.
- It is obligatory for the participants to the
Encuentro al zur-ich 2019, to live
the residence for at least 5 weeks, this is essential in the experience
compartment.
-It is necessary that the participants in the residence (especially international) have medical insurance (blue card, for the duration of their stay in the country)
2) Residence al zur - ich, EMBLEMÁTICA / Chance
Aniñada / 2019, COVER:
-The
6 scholarships will be endowed with an economic stipend of $ 1,000, for
production and realization of their projects.
-An
economic aid of $ 5.00 per day, for food, for the duration of their stay in the
Residence, to which the selected proposals must be governed,
-The
Residence provides a space for rest in shared rooms, space for food
preparation; kitchen and social spaces and study for the elaboration and
production of processes, reflection, practices of the projects.
-The
residence will have access to Wireless Internet.
-There
will be made, by the organization, temporary endowments of food for breakfast
preparation.
-There
will be an outing of field work, environmental reflection and recreation in a
town near Quito (North-West Quito -subtropic of the Ecuadorian highlands).
-The
organization of the residence / meeting provides transfer to and from the Quito
Mariscal Sucre Airport, upon arrival and departure of the participants.
-Indistinctly,
the artists and project proponents should go to interviews in radio and print
media in the city, as well as spaces for reflection, workshops, discussion and
talks.
-The
Encuentro al zur-ich, annually
develops a physical catalog of its processes. The participating artists will
receive a catalog as part of the archive of their projects.
-The
residence does not cover air travel and / or international ground
transportation.
-The
proposals accepted to the residence will receive a certificate of participation
from al zur-ich and endorsements from
the collaborating entities, this for the purposes that the proponent (s)
considers convenient: for resource management, mobilization, passages of airplane,
etc.
